September 13 - A Taste of Suffolk, sponsored by the City of Suffolk with participation by Suffolk Nansemond Historical Society:

  • 9:30am - Kickoff at Constant's Wharf
  • Landing of the Shallop - a replica of the boat Captain John Smith used when he explored the Nansemond River in September, 1608
  • 10:00am - 3:00pm - "Ask me about..." - Costumed characters on the street will answer questions about Suffolk history.
  • 10:00am - 2:00pm - History displays by villages and towns of old Nansemond County
  • 10:00am - 2:00pm - Book and Author Day at the Train Station - Talk to the people who record Suffolk's history and get your book signed.
  • 10:00am - 6:00pm - Music, car shows, dance demonstrations, and open downtown shops and restaurants

October 13 - Fall Membership Meeting - program to be announced

December 6 & 7 - 32nd Annual Candlelight Tour of Historic Homes
