Members of Suffolk Nansemond Historical Society meet each March and September to hear speakers on topics that relate to many aspects of the history of Suffolk and old Nansemond County. In addition, there are frequent special programs, bus tours, book and author events, and social events throughout the year that are for members only or sometimes for the general public.

Society members receive a quarterly newsletter featuring well-researched articles of local history.

Members receive discounts on some items at the Seaboard Railroad Station Gift Shop, such as SNHS publications and sponsored items.
